I was drawn to the way time transforms things — how rust, chipped paint, and decay can turn something ordinary into something deeply beautiful. This painting captures a close-up view of an old iron padlock secured to a weathered blue door — a scene that, to me, says more about life and resilience than words ever could.

When I first came across this image, it wasn’t just the lock that caught my eye — it was the story behind it. The once-bright turquoise paint had peeled and cracked over the years, revealing layers of history beneath. The lock, once shiny and strong, had rusted but still held firm. Together, they became a metaphor for endurance — for the way we all hold things together, even after life has worn us down a bit.
