There’s a moment I’ll never forget — standing on the shoreline early one morning, watching a pelican glide effortlessly above the waves. The ocean was calm, the sky alive with light, and this bird seemed to float between the two worlds — air and sea — in perfect balance. That moment became Wings of Freedom.

To me, this painting is about grace, strength, and peace — three qualities I’ve always admired in nature and tried to capture through my work. The pelican has long been a symbol of resilience and independence. It’s a creature that moves with both confidence and ease, riding the wind with quiet mastery. I wanted to bring that same feeling to life with color, motion, and emotion.

The ocean beneath is painted in rich blues and turquoise, shifting in tone to reflect depth and movement. Each brushstroke in the water was layered carefully to suggest rhythm — the rise and fall of waves, the soft reflections of sky, and the endless horizon. The bird’s feathers are detailed with warm browns, soft whites, and hints of sunlight — an intentional mix of realism and energy that captures that fleeting instant of flight.

Wings of Freedom is also deeply personal. I painted it during a time when I was searching for my own sense of direction. Watching that pelican reminded me that sometimes, freedom doesn’t come from running — it comes from rising above. It’s about trust — trusting yourself, your instincts, and the invisible winds that guide you forward.
