This painting was inspired by the beauty of a single poinsettia in full color, its petals layered like flames, glowing under the soft light after a morning rain. I wanted to bring forward that feeling of renewal — that moment when life feels fresh, bright, and full of energy.

The poinsettia has always been a symbol of warmth and celebration. To me, it represents hope and resilience — how something delicate can stand bold and proud through every season. In this piece, I focused on both strength and softness: the deep crimson tones of the petals contrasted with the fresh droplets of water that cling to them. Each brushstroke was meant to highlight texture — from the subtle veins of the leaves to the glistening reflections that dance across their surface.

I used layers of red, rose, and touches of orange to create depth, blending them into shadows of green and brown for balance. The water droplets were painted last, one by one, to give the flower its final breath of realism — that sense that it was alive, touched by morning light.
